Event Introduction
In 1624, the arrival of the Dutch in Tayuan marked the beginning of Taiwan's integration into the global community. Prior to this, many indigenous peoples had already lived on the island. The "Eastern Barbarian Chronicles" describes the Pingpu tribe as "practicing running day and night, with soles so thick they could walk on thorns as if on flat ground, running as fast as horses and able to continue all day without rest." In what is now Beitouyang in Jiali District, the Siraya Pingpu tribe had a father and son, Cheng Tianyu and Cheng Guotai, who were said to run like the wind. It is said that Emperor Kangxi invited the father and son to compete in a race against horses at the imperial court, where they "gave the horse a three-whip head start" and still outran it, earning high praise from the emperor.
In 2024, Tainan will celebrate its 400th anniversary with a series of events, including fun runs in Yonghua and marathons in Xinying. The Tainan 400 Marathon is not just a sporting event; it is a celebration that blends history, culture, and modern energy. The theme "Tainan Together, Embracing the World" invites runners from across the globe to experience the unique charm of Tainan.
This marathon course will guide runners through the five camps established by Koxinga: Xinying, Yanying (Yanshui), Xiaying, Zhongying, and Liuying. Along the way, participants will pass landmarks such as Xinying Taizi Temple, Yanshui Martial Temple, the Octagonal Tower, Yongcheng Theater, Catholic Church, Xiaying Beiji Temple, Maogangwei, the Sugar Railway Bike Path, Tiexian Bridge, and Liuying Baluoye Station. With substantial prizes up for grabs, this race offers not just a run, but a cultural journey through Tainan’s rich history.

Athletes collecting prizes must present their race bib and a photocopy of their ID card or passport.
All participants can quickly check, print, or download their performance certificates via the official results inquiry system for future use.

2. Please ensure that the address provided is accurate and can be signed for during the day. Incorrect or incomplete addresses may result in the package not being delivered, and no replacement will be provided.
3. During the delivery period, keep track of your package's status. If you have not received your package by November 13, 2024, please contact the office during business hours (08:30–12:00; 13:30–17:30).

Timing Chip
1. This event will provide timing chip services for competitive runners. A deposit of NT$100 for the timing chip has already been paid during registration. Each participant who completes the registration process will be issued a timing chip. The deposit will be refunded when the chip is returned at the event venue. A processing fee of NT$30 will be charged for the refund of the deposit via bank transfer.
2. According to World Athletics Technical Rule 19.24.5, the start time for all participants is the gun time. The event organizers will calculate and record race times based on the gun start, which will determine the final ranking of participants.
3. The competition will use chip timing for all categories. It is strictly prohibited to exchange chips, wear another person’s chip, or wear more than one chip. Violators will be disqualified, and their results will not be recorded.

7. The timing chip is essential for recording your time, so please ensure it passes over all timing mats. The organizers are not responsible for unrecorded times due to improper chip use.
8. Race results will be emailed to participants who complete the race within the allowed time, three days after the event. Please ensure your email address is correctly provided. Participants can also download or print their results from the event’s official results page.
